15 May 2009:
Early Friday evening, a tornado producing storm made its way to our little town. As the sirens wailed, our family made its way into the basement. Rain, wind and hail battered the roof and windows and walls while we prayed, sang and talked. After about 45 minutes, the all clear siren sounded and we emerged from our shelter. From that time until 9:30, neighbors helped remove knocked-down trees and patch roofs with temporary tarps. Thankfully, no one was injured, but two families lost their homes and two others had major damage to either home or garage. Around town, many trees were down and minor structures were destroyed.
Praise the Lord for His protection!
